Our Research Projects: Advancing Trauma-Informed Leadership
At the intersection of workplace dynamics and trauma-informed leadership, our research delves into the hidden factors that shape professional environments. Whether through data-driven analysis or personal storytelling, our work sheds light on the unseen forces influencing workplace culture, leadership effectiveness, and employee well-being.

Capacities: An Ongoing Study
What makes a specific event feel traumatic for one person when a similar event doesn’t feel traumatic for another person?
I’m currently conducting 1-on-1 interviews to explore this question. These interviews are part of a research project exploring how people make sense of difficult experiences. The goal isn’t to focus on the details of the events themselves, but on how you experienced them, what made them harder or easier to carry, and what shaped whether they felt traumatic.
Your insights could contribute to research on trauma-informed leadership and prevention, helping empower leaders to create environments where people can grow resilience.

Trauma & the Workplace: An Ongoing Study
What happens when personal trauma – whether childhood experiences, past toxic workplaces, or life-altering events – enters the professional sphere? How do these experiences shape leadership, conflict resolution, and career progression?
I’m currently conducting 1-on-1 interviews to explore these questions. If you’ve ever felt the impact of past experiences at work, I’d love to hear your story. Your insights will contribute to a better understanding of how organizations can support employees and create truly trauma-informed workplaces.
By engaging with our research, you’re helping us redefine workplace culture and leadership – one conversation at a time.

Understanding the Erosion of Psychological Safety in the Workplace (2024)
In 2024, I sent out a survey on Understanding Stressors in the workplace. The questions on the survey were pulled from the list of common workplace traumas and triggers found in my book, Trauma-Informed Leadership: Navigating Trauma and Triggers to Build Resilient and Successful Teams to determine quantitively – rather than anecdotally – the rates of those traumas and triggers in the workplace.
